Animas/Del Norte Gold-Silver Discovery
The Animas/Del Norte Discovery is located within the northern portion of the large Orion Concession. The Discovery consists of a series of three parallel veins, the dominant two named Animas and Del Norte. This deposit was discovered in August 2007 when the company drilled a series of holes under historic workings along the veins, and since that time has continued to drill out the limits of the system. The Company’s goal is to complete a 43-101 on the Discovery by mid 2009, provided the limits of the mineralization have determined by drilling at that time.
The deposit is characterized as an epithermal vein set with acanthite and electrum being the most common precious-metal bearing minerals. Rub silver and tetrahedrite are also present. The veins carry the highest grades, however, the adjacent stockworking zones which carry mineralization add significantly to the width of the mineralization. These wider zones of mineralization will have important implications for possible open pit scenarios, prior to going underground for the deeper mineralization.
The Del Norte Vein is the most consistently mineralized vein and carries the highest grades. To date, mineralization within this vein has been traced for 700 metres along strike and as deep as 400 metres. Several areas along the Del Norte vein remain open (see Figure 1 below) and the company is continuing to drill test these areas, as well as infill areas where the drill density isn’t enough to establish a resource. As displayed in Figure 1, the Del Norte vein, hosts significantly high grade mineralization over the strike length of the deposit, with two very high grade potions of the deposit noted in pink in Figure 1. These high grade zones have produced impressive values such as drill hole OR-08-157 which intersected 31.08 metres of Del Norte vein assaying 10.5 g/t gold and 333 g/t silver (or 16 g/t gold equivalent or 960 g/t silver equivalent).
This Discovery is located within an east-west vein system that has been traced for 4.2 kilometres and still open. Other similar veins have been discovery and the company is using the geological and geochemical characteristics of the Animas/Del Norte Discovery to locate other potential ore bodies.

Figure 2 illustrates the mineralizing system in cross section through section 999. Generally, the highest grades of mineralization are directly associated with the vein, while stockworking zones which adjoin the vein also carry mineralization.
